Although Fort Worth, Texas is right next door to Dallas, it doesn’t feel like a big city. It's a little more laid back and our customers at Russell Smith Auto are generally nice, really friendly.
One thing we do for the community every year is a Christmas a raffle. Over the years it’s grown into a big open house.
For our existing customers, for every on-time payment they make in November and December, they get a ticket in a hopper. We raffle off $500 cash, a couple of big screen TVs, skip payments, gift cards, Visa gift cards, that kind of thing.
When people come to the drawing, we always have food, hot dogs and drinks, and Santa comes. Customers bring their kids to sit on Santa's lap and get a gift.
We always have a little drawing for other people that are there, and we have gifts that we give away. So we like to show customers our appreciation with a seasonal raffle.
We’ve also done a school gift bag giveaway for the kids in the neighborhood. We have a grade school real close to here. We put up flyers and let people know what we were giving away. We got a school supply list and gave away school bags with supplies and other things in it. Our staff spent a lot of time on this project and really made it a success.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed a lot of that, but we’re looking forward to getting back to normal this year and celebrating our customers and community. This is what Russell Smith Auto is all about.
